Thanks to the recent work of a team of researchers at the University of
Hawaii, we now have an even better of idea of just how tiny our little
lives are in the big picture of the universe. In fact, as a new model
for mapping the movement of galaxies has revealed, the cluster of
galaxies that is home to planet earth may be around 100 times bigger than previously thought... Read More>>>
Superclusters– regions of space that are densely packed with galaxies – are the biggest structures in the Universe. But scientists have struggled to define exactly where one supercluster ends and another begins.
Now, a team based in Hawaii has come up with a new technique that maps the Universe according to the flow of galaxies across space. Redrawing the boundaries of the cosmic map, they redefine our home supercluster and name it Laniakea, which means ‘immeasurable heaven’ in Hawaiian.
The results of a study conducted with the use of Wim Hof method suggest that a person can learn to consciously control his immune responses.
Wim Hof is a Dutch world record holder who is famous
worldwide for his ability to resist cold. For this incredible
invulnerability to cold, he was commonly nicknamed “the Iceman”.
Scientists led by Matthijs Kox of the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, studied his method, which is somehow similar to the Tibetan Tummo technique (yoga of inner heat) and involves third-eye meditation, breathing exercises and cold exposure, and used it to train 12 volunteers to fend off inflammation... In my opinion Ted's book is absolutely profound in the way it draws upon a dazzling variety of philosophical and scientific resources in order to place humanity within a cosmic evolutionary perspective.
In that sense I will go as far as claiming that it is a one-of-a-kind book within my transhumanist library and, while it is definitely not an easy or quick read, I enjoyed it very much.

The onset of the 21st Century will be an era in which the very nature of what it means to be human will be both enriched and challenged as our species breaks the shackles of its genetic legacy and achieves inconceivable heights of intelligence, material progress, and longevity.
While the social and philosophical ramifications of these changes will be profound, and the threats they pose considerable, celebrated futurist Ray Kurzweil presents a view of the coming age that is both a dramatic culmination of centuries of technological ingenuity and a genuinely inspiring vision of our ultimate destiny... Artificial intelligence has been heading in one direction for 60 years according to Financial Times West Coast Editor, Richard Waters. And that direction is for the technology becoming, "as smart as people."
In this respect, the history of AI has been one of disappointment, as
the early practitioners were way ahead of themselves in terms of the
capabilities they could achieve. This was especially pronounced in the
so-called AI Winter of the 80's and 90's, when it seemed that the HAL 9000 system of the movies was never going to be achieved... Read More>>>

The speaker has said that going to an office everyday from nine to five is an
intolerable imprisonment. But in any society all kinds of jobs have to be done.
Is K's teaching therefore only for the few?
You have understood?
Shall I read it again?
The speaker has said that human society is so constructed throughout the world
that most people are occupied with jobs, pleasant or unpleasant, from nine to
five everyday of their life. And he said also that it is an intolerable
imprisonment. I don't know how you feel about it. Probably you like being in
prison, probably you like your jobs from nine o'clock to five o'clock, rushing,
rushing back and all the rest of it.
What shall we do?
To the speaker he wouldn't tolerate it for a single minute - for the speaker. I
would rather do something which would be pleasant, helpful and necessary to
earn enough money and so on. But most of us accept this prison, this routine -
right? We accept it.
So what shall we do?
Nobody, as far as one is capable of sufficient observation, nobody has
questioned this. We say it is normal, it is the way of society, it is the way
of our life, it is the way we must live. But if we all see together that such
an imprisonment, which it is actually, that we all feel it is intolerable, not
just verbally but actually do something about it we will create a new society -
right? We will if all of us say we will not tolerate for a single day this
routine, this monstrous activity of nine to five, however necessary, however
good and pleasant, then we will bring about not only psychological revolution
but also outwardly.
Right?
We may agree about this but will we do it?
You might say,
"No, I can't do it because I have responsibility, I have children, I have a
house and mortgage, insurance"
- thank god I haven't got any of those!
And so you might say,
"It is easy for you to talk about all this."
But it is easy for the speaker to talk about it because he refuses to go in
that pattern. From boyhood he refused it.

Personal trainer and fitness writer Lisa Payne (lisapaynefitness.com) teaches host Judy Greer about the most overrated workout and how it may be doing more harm than good.
"Chronic cardio" enthusiasts who repeatedly do the treadmill, elliptical, and similar workouts are teaching their
muscles to a fault, she warns.
Side effects can be insomnia, and mood
swings and you'll also start burning off muscle. Switching up your
routines is key, says Lisa, as she demonstrates other moves that can
have a big effect.

Is Your Weight an Emotional Issue? The Biological Weight Loss Trap...
Why releasing weight is an emotional issue…
When you think about how to release extra weight, what are the first things that you think of?
Eating better and exercising, right?
I know that’s what most people think of but as EFT Tapping Expert Jessica Ortner says...
Focusing on diet and exercise FIRST when trying to release weight, is absolutely the wrong approach.
It's not that diet and exercise don't matter, it's that the ability to
eat well, exercise, and feel safe releasing weight are all run
unconsciously in your brain, and if your brain isn't wired the way you
want it to be, then you're just setting yourself up for failure.
If you've struggled and gone from diet to diet, you're likely to continue the trend UNLESS you get to the root of the problem.
You see Jessica has been taking a much different approach towards
helping women and she's been getting some startlingly good results.
Acknowledged as one of the greatest religious teachers of this or any other age, the late J. Krishnamurti was a visionary whose ideas are still ahead of his time... Listen to a Free Sample>>> **************************************************** The Perfect Plan By Chuck Danes
Do you sometimes feel that life's unfair, that future hope is bleak? Do your day to day experiences leave your spirit feeling... Do you ever think the joys in life are reserved for just a few?
That your hopes and dreams you'll never reach no matter what you do.
Perhaps you've thought how hard it is to get ahead these days?
That strain and strife are just part of life and nothing you do pays.
If you do, take heart my friend, so many think this way.
But there is hope a brighter path that you can take today.
It will require a shift in thought, it may challenge your beliefs
But it will guide you to a life of joy, content, relief.
So listen closely and absorb this perfect plan I share
Implement these steps you'll learn and soon you'll be aware
Of a life that's filled with joy beyond your wildest dreams
Regardless what "appears" to be no matter how life seems.
Focus your attention on what you soon will learn
The wisdom in it, if acted on will provide those things you yearn
The answers are available just seek and you will find
That all which you've experienced is a product of your mind
These troubles you encounter now that you feel get in your way
Are due to thoughts, emotions felt that you had yesterday.
For long ago the plan was made which allowed you to be free
From all these limitations that you now perceive to be
You have been given power which you're not yet aware
It's through misuse of this precious gift that's created your despair
For in the plan there came a clause that remains within it still
That each and every soul on earth be entitled to free will
You chose to limit your results by absorbing false belief
The plan designed to bring you joy through your own choice brought you grief
For every thought, emotion felt consists of energy
And those that you allow to grow is what life comes to be
The life that you are living now is due to seeds you've sown
The thoughts, beliefs, emotions felt is precisely what has grown
You must undo the damage done and shatter old beliefs
And do away with those that harm instead of bring relief
You must rethink the choices made that brought you where you are
Rewrite the script of your own life which allows you to go far
There is a law that draws to you those things you'd like to see
Just use your free will consciously and soon you will be free
To experience life's beauty and all it can provide
Just follow closely what is shared and use it as your guide
First you must become aware of all you think and say
Discover and become aware of the powerful role they play
In attracting the experiences you come to see in life
Are they in harmony with joy, or lack and pain and strife?
For it is these that stir within emotions that you feel
Projected out attracting more that you perceive as real
The energy they emanate attracts more of the same
Be conscious of the signal sent and what it is you claim
Now ponder on your core beliefs, what you believe is true
Are those beliefs in harmony with what you want to do?
Examine closely one by one and discern if they are truth
Or were they handed down to you and given you in youth?
Are they based on ease, love, joy and possibility
Or struggle, strain, fear and strife, examine them and see
Determine which will serve you and which you need to shun
Analyze them carefully, each and every one.
Jiddu Krishnamurti (12 May 1895 – 17 February 1986) was an Indian
speaker and writer on philosophical and spiritual subjects. In his
early life he was groomed to be the new World Teacher but later rejected
this mantle and disbanded the organisation behind it. His subject
matter included psychological revolution, the nature of mind,
meditation, inquiry, human relationships, and bringing about radical
change in society. He constantly stressed the need for a revolution in
the psyche of every human being and emphasised that such revolution
cannot be brought about by any external entity, be it religious,
political, or social.
Krishnamurti was born in British India and in early adolescence, he had a
chance encounter with prominent occultist and theosophist Charles
Webster Leadbeater in the grounds of the Theosophical Society
headquarters at Adyar in Madras. He was subsequently raised under the
tutelage of Annie Besant and Leadbeater, leaders of the Society at the
time, who believed him to be a "vehicle" for an expected World Teacher.
As a young man, he disavowed this idea and dissolved the Order of the
Star in the East, an organisation that had been established to support
it.
He claimed allegiance to no nationality, caste, religion, or philosophy,
and spent the rest of his life travelling the world, speaking to large
and small groups and individuals. He wrote many books, among them The
First and Last Freedom, The Only Revolution, and Krishnamurti's
Notebook. Many of his talks and discussions have been published. His
last public talk was in Madras, India, in January 1986, a month before
his death at his home in Ojai, California.
His supporters, working through non-profit foundations in India, Great
Britain and the United States, oversee several independent schools based
on his views on education. They continue to transcribe and distribute
his thousands of talks, group and individual discussions, and writings
by use of a variety of media formats and languages.
